Dr. Mark Greenawalt is the Chair of Applied Music Studies and an Associate Professor of Music at Liberty Universitys School of Music. A accomplished tenor, he has performed roles in numerous operas, oratorios, and musical theater productions with organizations across the United States, collaborating with notable accompanists and Metropolitan Opera performers. Dr. Greenawalt holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University, a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and two Bachelors degrees from Baldwin-Wallace College in both music and music education. With over a decade of professional experience, he previously taught at George Fox University, Portland Community College, and Warner Pacific College, and operated a full-time private vocal studio in Oregon. His expertise extends to vocal pedagogy and rehabilitation, having collaborated with medical professionals on voice team initiatives at Fauquier Hospital. Dr. Greenawalt is also a certified instructor of the Blaylock Vocal Method, bringing specialized knowledge of innovative vocal techniques. His comprehensive background encompasses classical repertoire, operatic performance, and practical voice rehabilitation.
