Marilyn Thomas Bernard is a distinguished classical vocalist and educator based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, serving the greater Santa Fe area. She has performed as a soloist with prestigious ensembles including the New Orleans Symphony, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New Mexico Symphony, and Santa Fe Desert Chorale, with appearances at Carnegie Hall and other venues worldwide. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Newcomb College of Tulane University and a Master of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from Tulane University, and was a Summer Scholarship Student at Berkshire Music Festival. Marilyn's teaching approach focuses on developing healthy vocal technique, working with both beginner and professional singers. She has extensive leadership experience in music education, including serving as Co-founder and Artistic Director of the New Mexico Symphonic Youth Chorus, Founding Director of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Chorus and Junior Chorus, and Performing Arts Chair and Choral Director at Albuquerque Academy for over 20 years. Her private voice studio has been serving students since 2009, offering professional instruction that emphasizes proper technique foundation and vocal health.
