About
Machan Taylor is an accomplished vocalist, recording artist, composer, and educator with an impressive four-decade performance career spanning diverse genres and prestigious venues. Described by Variety Magazine as having a 'seamless vocal style,' Machan has toured globally with iconic artists including Sting, Pink Floyd, Pat Benatar, and Foreigner, and has performed at The Grammy Awards and Royal Albert Hall. She served as front woman for the jazz ensemble Hiroshima and as featured vocalist for the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Her television appearances include Saturday Night Live, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and The Tonight Show. Beyond her performance career, Machan is an adjunct faculty member at the Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at NYU and The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. She taught voice at Poughkeepsie Day School from 2007-2009 and founded a private vocal studio in the Hudson Valley and NYC in 1999. Machan holds a Certification in Level 3 Vocal Technique from Shenandoah University in the Lovetri Method and is an NCVS Trained and Certified Vocologist under Dr. Ingo Titze. Her recording career includes two albums and compositions featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and in films including Star Trek V and Home Alone 2. She is an active freelance vocalist for live and recording session work.
