Lynne Ferrara

About

Lynne Ferrara is a voice instructor at Utica University, a native of Central New York who brings comprehensive training in both classical and contemporary vocal styles to her teaching. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with vocal concentration from The College of Saint Rose and a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from New Jersey City University. At Utica University, Ms. Ferrara teaches music classes, directs the choir, serves as vocal coach for musical theatre productions, and coordinates the Jackson Lunch Hour Series. She previously served as an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Herkimer College and was the college's music faculty liaison for the College Now Program, where she mentored and oversaw local high school music educators. An alumna of the Westchester Summer Vocal Institute, Ms. Ferrara holds contemporary commercial music and musical theatre vocal pedagogy certifications from The LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™ - The LoVetri Method, providing her with specialized training in modern vocal techniques. She remains an active performer, with her most memorable role being Papagena from Mozart's The Magic Flute. Her graduate thesis, "Mozart's Muse: Examining the Feminine Influence in Mozart's Life and Music," reflects her deep scholarly engagement with classical repertoire. Her teaching integrates classical technique with contemporary commercial music approaches, making her particularly effective with students interested in musical theater, pop, and crossover styles.
