Lynn Kompass
About
Lynn Kompass is a Professor and Vocal Coach at the University of South Carolina School of Music, serving as a collaborative pianist and vocal coach since 2002. She provides comprehensive musical preparation for all Opera at USC productions and teaches courses in song literature and advanced diction for singers. Lynn mentors both graduate and undergraduate voice majors in preparation for degree recitals, auditions, and professional performance. Her international performance career spans Europe, Asia, and South America, with notable appearances at prestigious venues including Weill Recital Hall and the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York City. For multiple summers, she served as a pianist for the prestigious Steans Vocal Institute in residence at the Ravinia Music Festival. As a répétiteur, Kompass has collaborated with leading opera companies including Chicago Opera Theater, Aspen Opera Theater, and Opera Brasil. Her recordings appear on Centaur and Innova labels, featuring works by Sergey Taneyev and contemporary composers.

Graduate degrees from University of Michigan, studying with Martin Katz; Additional training with Martin Isepp at Banff Centre for Fine Arts and faculty including Roger Vignoles and Warren Jones at the Steans Institute
