Lydia Howery
About
Lydia Howery is an accomplished vocalist and adjunct voice faculty member at Florida Gulf Coast University Bower School of Music, where she contributes to the training of the next generation of singers. She holds a Master of Music degree and has extensive professional experience as a performer and educator. Prior to joining FGCU, Lydia taught voice at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania and has performed throughout the northeast in various concert and operatic works. Her operatic experience includes creating the role of Daphne in Jordan Farrars opera The Day Boy and the Night Girl with the After Dinner Opera Company at Symphony Space in New York City, and performing leading roles with Erie Opera Theatre including the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Maddalena in Rigoletto, and Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus. In the Southwest Florida region, Lydia has joined Gulfshore Opera as a Harmony Choir teacher at PACE Center for Girls and performs as an alto core singer with the Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida. She is also a member of GO Divas, Gulfshore Operas all female vocal group that performs a large range of repertoire from Bach to the Beatles. Her rich performance background and dedication to vocal excellence make her an inspiring mentor for students.
