Lori Van Lenten
About
Lori Van Lenten is the Founding Artistic and Executive Director of VOCE (The Young Voices of Greater Augusta), a non-profit vocal training and arts education program. A functional voice teacher who emphasizes the science and function of the voice, she brings a teaching philosophy that recognizes while fundamental vocal techniques apply universally, different singing styles require distinct vocal applications. She prioritizes voice health and has studied vocal development across ages to help students achieve individual goals. Lori holds a Bachelor degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University and a Master degree in Vocal Pedagogy for Musical Theatre from Westminster Choir College at Rider University. She is certified in Somatic Voicework through the LoVetri Institute and has advanced studies in Body Mapping and The Alexander Technique. Her students have been featured as soloists at Carnegie Hall, on Broadway tours, and in regional theater productions. Lori has performed extensively across the United States and internationally in venues spanning Vietnam, Korea, Spain, France, The Netherlands, England, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, and Italy. She offers private voice lessons, coaching sessions focused on audition and performance preparation, and group voice classes for grades K-12. Her approach combines scientific voice training with performance coaching to develop healthy, functional singing techniques.
