Lorene Phillips is an accomplished voice coach, singer, and vocal instructor with extensive professional experience in opera and theatrical performance. She has performed with Syracuse Opera, Mohawk Valley Opera Nova, Opera New York, Brooklyn Repertory Opera, and the Syracuse Civic Symphony, bringing real-world performance expertise to her teaching. As a high school choral director for the Syracuse City and Fulton City School Districts, she developed strong pedagogical skills working with diverse student populations. Phillips holds permanent K-12 music teacher certification in New York State and is a certified Somatic Voice Coach, providing evidence-based instruction in vocal health and technique. Her expertise spans both classical Swedish-Italianate vocal technique and contemporary commercial music styles. She has coached vocalists at all levels, from church musicians and community singers to national touring performers and Broadway professionals.
