Linda Zoghby
About
Linda Zoghby is an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of South Alabama, bringing over three decades of professional singing experience to her teaching. Her distinguished performance career includes appearances at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and The Venetian in Las Vegas. A career highlight was her unscheduled but highly successful debut as Mimi in La Boheme at the Metropolitan Opera, earning a standing ovation. She has performed opposite renowned singers including Placido Domingo, Frederica von Stade, and Marilyn Horne, working with acclaimed conductors like James Levine and Simon Rattle. Zoghby has performed for Presidents Carter and Reagan, recorded three Haydn operas on London and Decca labels, and released a solo CD titled Christmas with Linda Zoghby. At age 22, she won first place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Young Artists Awards, and at 23 won first prize in the WGN-Illinois Opera Guild Auditions of the Air competition.
