Lillian Ridout is a soprano vocal educator and performer native to Albuquerque, teaching voice and beginner piano at the Albuquerque Institute of Music. She earned a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico and a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the Lamont School of Music in Denver, Colorado, where she was recipient of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Award. Lillians operatic repertoire includes roles such as Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte, and recent performances in Lenfant et les Sortilèges and Les Mamelles des Tiresias. She has been featured as a soloist with the New Mexico Philharmonic Orchestras Pops concerts and has been active in musical theater showcases in the UNM theatrical scene. As a passionate educator, Lillian emphasizes healthy vocal technique and fearless self-expression across multiple genres including classical, musical theater, jazz, and contemporary styles. Her teaching philosophy centers on inspiring passion and excellence in music, guiding students through an adventure of vocal discovery that combines technical mastery with artistic expression. Vocal lessons with Lillian are designed to build confidence, expand range, and develop each students unique voice across all styles.
