About
Dr. Lee Gregory is a baritone vocalist praised by the New York Times for his lovely lyric voice and engaging natural stage presence. He maintains an extensive performance history spanning baroque through contemporary repertoire, with appearances at major opera companies including the Metropolitan Opera, Long Beach Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Utah Festival Opera. Notable operatic roles include Papageno in The Magic Flute, the title role in Don Giovanni, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and Hannah Before in As One. He is also an accomplished concert artist, appearing as baritone soloist in major choral works including Brahms’ Requiem and various symphonic masterpieces. A dedicated educator, Dr. Gregory is engaged in both classroom instruction and private voice instruction. His research focuses on historical vocal pedagogy, contemporary voice science, and psychoacoustics. Dr. Gregory served as a finalist in the 2006 Joy in Singing Competition and the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation Competition. He trained in prestigious programs including San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program and Cincinnati Opera’s Apprentice Artist Program.
