Dr. Laura Broughton is the founder and director of Music in My Garden, a private voice and piano studio serving the Hattiesburg, Petal, Purvis, Laurel, and Columbia areas of South Mississippi. With an advanced musical education including a D.M.A., M.M., and B.M. in Music, Dr. Broughton brings extensive expertise and professional credentials to her private teaching practice. She holds Permanent Professional Certification in Piano from the Music Teachers National Association and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM). Dr. Broughton has served three terms as president of the Hattiesburg Music Teachers League, demonstrating her commitment to the local music education community. She is dedicated to working with students of all ages, from children as young as 4 years old to senior retirees. In addition to in-person lessons in her Hattiesburg studio, Dr. Broughton offers online lessons worldwide, making her expertise accessible to students everywhere. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes individual student growth, musical enjoyment, and developing strong fundamental skills.
