Kristen Birley is an experienced voice teacher based in Victoria, British Columbia, who has been teaching singing lessons to students of all ages for over ten years. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Victoria, bringing comprehensive academic training to her teaching practice. Kristen's students have excelled in the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival and have successfully studied for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations, demonstrating the effectiveness of her teaching methods. Her own voice achievements include extensive solo and choral work at the local, provincial, national and international levels. As a member of prestigious ensembles including the University of Victoria Chamber Singers, PRIMA Choir, Vancouver Island Chamber Choir and Vox Humana, Kristen has performed in a variety of venues around Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe, bringing real-world performance experience to her teaching. Her combination of advanced academic training, successful competition preparation, and extensive performance experience across multiple continents makes her a well-rounded voice educator who can guide students from beginner levels through advanced study and performance preparation.
