About
Kimberly Lauritsen is Voice Department Head at The Music Settlement in Cleveland, where she serves as Instructor for Voice, Violin, Suzuki Violin, and Suzuki Theory, and as Ensemble Director of The Settlement Singers. A mezzo-soprano with an active performance career, Lauritsen is described by Classical Cleveland for her beautiful crystalline ring and velvety low tones. She has frequently performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, most recently as soloist in The Lord of the Rings Symphony at the Blossom Music Center. She has performed lead roles with Opera per tutti, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Opera Cleveland on Tour, CIM Opera Theater, the Janiec Opera Company, and UNL's Opera Theater. Lauritsen also performs regularly with the Cleveland Chamber Choir and serves as Adjunct Voice Faculty at The University of Akron. She is the recipient of multiple prestigious awards including the Boris Goldovsky Prize in Opera, the Vassos Prize in Art Song, and a Special Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Her teaching emphasizes vocal health, artistic interpretation, and performance readiness across multiple styles.
