Kenneth Wood serves as the Coordinator of Voice and Co-Director of VCU Opera at Virginia Commonwealth University, holding the rank of Assistant Professor of Voice and Voice Pedagogy. He has extensive performance experience with major opera companies including Western Opera Theater in San Francisco, Texas Opera Theater in Houston, Lyric Opera of Dallas, Fort Worth Opera, and Austin Lyric Opera. He has also appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Austin Symphony and Sacramento Symphony, plus the Festival at Round Top. Wood is recognized as a "Certified Classical Singer" by Classical Singer magazine and has achieved finalist status in prestigious international opera competitions. Before joining VCU, he taught at the University of Central Missouri and maintained a private voice studio in Texas for over a decade.
