Katie MacLeod is a voice and piano instructor at Harmony Music Studios in Durham, NC. She holds a Bachelor of Music with a focus in Education from the University of South Carolina, along with a Certificate in Vocal Performance. Katie has taught music K-5 at Rice Creek Elementary and worked with children choirs. As a featured mezzo-soprano soloist, she has performed works by Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. Her teaching style is influenced by Gordon Music Learning Theory, emphasizing audiation and a music-play approach with improvisation and creativity activities. Katie brings extensive experience in both classroom and private instruction settings, creating engaging, student-centered lessons that develop strong musical foundations while fostering creativity and joy in music making.
