Kathy Alexander is an accomplished performer, vocal coach, and music educator based in Victoria, British Columbia (Saanich), on Vancouver Island. She is co-founder and former VP of Curriculum for Singdaptive, a popular asynchronous coaching platform for singers, and serves as an instructor at The Canadian College for Performing Arts. Kathy is co-author of The Ultimate Guide To Singing and was a regular contributor to VoiceCouncil Magazine, establishing herself as a thought leader in contemporary vocal pedagogy. Her background includes decades of experience in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, arranger, and music director, with extensive performance experience across multiple genres. She has directed numerous choirs, musical theater projects and choral performances including the Victoria Children's Choir and the Grace Men's Choir, demonstrating her versatility and leadership in music education. Kathy teaches private voice lessons and performance coaching both in-person in Victoria and online to international students, offering customized vocal training that emphasizes contemporary commercial music styles. Her teaching philosophy combines practical performance skills with evidence-based vocal technique, helping students develop healthy, sustainable voices while finding their authentic artistic expression across pop, jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary styles.
