Katherine Parker
About
Katherine Parker, DMA, is a soprano, vocologist, researcher, and educator with over 17 years of experience. She serves as Coordinator of Voice Area, Classical Voice Advisor, Teaching Assistant Professor of Voice, and Artistic Director of Nevada Opera Theatre at the University of Nevada, Reno. With a DMA in Vocal Performance from UNR and an MM in Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, she also holds SVI Vocologist Certification from the University of Utah. Her previous faculty positions include Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Salem State University, Phillips Academy Andover, and Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She has performed with Rochester Opera House, Reno Philharmonic, and Reno Chamber Orchestra, and served as vocal producer at Skywalker Sound and Land Grant Records. She was nominated for the 2021 UNR Paul and Judy Bible Teaching Award. Her research focuses on vocal health for music educators, cross-training musical theatre voices, yoga for singers, performance anxiety, and Broadway belting pedagogy.
