She earned a BA in History from Yale University, Master's in Voice from Manhattan School of Music, and DMA in Vocal Performance from University of Maryland. With 30+ years of performance experience, she has performed with the Washington Bach Consort, Cathedral Choral Society, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Folger Consort. She specializes in J.S. Bach and Baroque repertoire. Dr. Cain previously taught music at a bilingual DC public charter school for nine years and is a member of NATS and ASHA. Currently, she maintains a private voice studio in Washington DC where she teaches opera, music theater, contemporary commercial music styles, and speech to students of all ages.
