Karen Smith is the Master Lecturer in Voice at East Tennessee State University, serving as Director of Opera Theatre and Coordinator of Voice Area. She brings professional expertise in voice pedagogy and opera performance to her teaching. Her leadership of ETSU's opera program has established it as a vital component of the music department's offerings. Karen works with singers across all skill levels, from beginners developing their fundamental vocal skills to advanced performers preparing for professional careers in opera and concert performance. Her dedication to student success is reflected in the caliber of singers she produces, many of whom go on to perform professionally. She teaches applied voice lessons and directs major productions for the opera theater program.
