Karen Nimeréala is an internationally acclaimed opera singer and voice teacher based in Manhattan, serving students throughout NYC including Queens. She studied at Juilliard under the renowned Beverly Johnson and received post-graduate performance training at Juilliard. Karen made her operatic debut performing the role of Violetta in La Traviata, conducted by Maestro Nicola Rescigno, and has performed at various opera houses in France and the United States over a 30-year professional career. Her vocal technique is based upon the bel canto method, which she studied with her mentor, the legendary tenor Franco Corelli. With over 15 years as a professor and 30+ years as a professional opera singer, Karen is widely acclaimed for her theatrical abilities, versatile artistic nature, and excellent singing voice. She has collaborated with distinguished conductors including Giuliano Carella, Vahktang Jordania, and Armin Jordan. Karen has coached notable artists including Mylène Farmer and Sting, and her former students have attended prestigious institutions including Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, École Normale de la Musique, and Conservatoire Nationale de Paris. She provides comprehensive vocal instruction in opera, pop/rock/R&B, musical theatre, and jazz, offering lessons in-person in NYC, Paris, and via Skype/FaceTime.
