Karen Lytle
About
Karen Lytle is the founder of Santa Barbara Voice Academy, a Santa Barbara-based voice coach and singing teacher with over 40 years of experience. Educated in music at the University of Texas at Austin, Karen also holds a Master's degree in psychology. She is a Certified Vocal Coach of The Six Point Vocal WAV Method and has trained in several well-known vocal techniques, allowing her to work with all levels of singers both online and in person. Karen has studied with renowned teachers in the industry, including Rosemary Butler, backup singer for Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Boz Scaggs, and Roseann Cash. Her teaching combines techniques from Seth Riggs and Speech Level Singing. Unlike coaches who approach singing from left-brain technicality, Karen promotes the emotional process, supporting and inspiring people to reach inside themselves to tell their stories authentically while sounding great.
