About
Justin Stoney is an internationally-recognized voice teacher, vocal coach, and founder of New York Vocal Coaching Inc., established in 2005. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance and a BA in English from the University of Michigan, where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected University Commencement Speaker. Throughout his career, Justin has taught over 20,000 voice lessons to singers of diverse backgrounds and levels. His vocal instruction spans multiple genres, having studied classical technique with Metropolitan Opera veterans, musical theatre technique with Broadway veterans, and contemporary pop/rock/R&B technique with industry leaders. He is the author of the award-winning book Sing Like Never Before and host of the popular singing show Voice Lessons To The World. Justin is a Distinguished Voice Professional with NYSTA, having served 8 years on their Board, and holds memberships in NATS, Vocology in Practice, VASTA, The Voice Foundation, Actors Equity, and SAG-AFTRA. He is certified in Yoga with background in Alexander Technique and anatomy, and collaborates with Columbia University's Voice and Swallowing Institute. His celebrity clients include Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award-winning artists, and he notably worked with Tony Shalhoub in preparation for his Tony Award-winning performance in The Band's Visit in 2018.
