About

Julie Dean is a Somatic Coach for Creatives and voice teacher based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with over twenty years of experience. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (magna cum laude) from Queens University of Charlotte in 1996 and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Winthrop University in 2007. Julie is also a Certified Trauma Support Specialist (2021) and continually seeks the latest workshops in voice/body science to serve her clients. She spent 7 seasons in the Opera Carolina Chorus after graduate school before returning to contemporary music and finding songwriting. Julie performs around Charlotte as a guest artist, featured songwriter, and with her duo 'Beauty & the Blues' at local venues, parties, and weddings. She has been a member of the Tosco Music Party house band/choir since 2015, and released her first EP, SPARK, in fall 2023. Julie's teaching approach employs somatic coaching methodologies that connect mind and body through voice work, specializing in singing coaching and life coaching. She helps clients explore, get to know, and love their voice, addressing both artistic vocal development and personal communication confidence.
