Judith Pannill Raiford is an Associate Professor of Music in Voice and Director of the School of Music at the University of Tulsa. Recognized for the luminous quality of her voice and her impeccable musicianship, Raiford has performed as a soloist across North America, Europe, and Scandinavia in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Avery Fisher Hall at Alice Tully, and the Black Sea Festival. During 18 years as a New York City resident, she maintained an active career as a guest soloist with major choral, orchestral, and chamber organizations. She has appeared on national television programs including Sunday Morning with Charles Kuralt and Nightwatch with Charlie Rose, and has recorded works by Brahms, Johann Strauss II, and Antonio Caldara for the Arabesque and Albany labels. Raiford is recognized as a well-respected pedagogue in the region, with students accepted to elite graduate programs including Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, Indiana University, and NYU, many winning major vocal competitions. Her expertise encompasses vocal pedagogy and technique, vocal literature and operatic repertoire, and Baroque and classical ornamentation.
