Juan B. is an accomplished voice teacher and opera singer currently pursuing his Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of South Carolina, with an expected graduation in May 2026. With a Master's degree in Music in Voice Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in Music for Voice Performance from Bellas Artes University in Cali, Colombia, he brings international training and diverse expertise to his teaching. Juan has been teaching private voice lessons since 2011 and served as a teaching assistant at the Sole Academy of Music in Columbia and at the University of South Carolina. Between 2022 and 2024, he debuted internationally, singing major opera roles across prestigious venues in New York and New Jersey. Juan's teaching approach is informed by his extensive participation in vocal pedagogy courses, master classes, and vocal technique workshops. Known for his outgoing and positive personality, he teaches from a professional studio in downtown Columbia equipped with piano and laptop. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to teach a diverse student population.
