Joshua May
About
Dr. Joshua May is Associate Professor of Voice at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music, serving as Director of Opera Activities, Voice Area Coordinator, and Honors College Faculty Fellow. He holds a D.M.A. in Voice Performance from the University of Connecticut, two Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the New England Conservatory of Music, and a B.M. in Voice Performance from the University of Florida. He has completed all three certification levels at the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework. As a tenor, Dr. May maintains an active performance career while his students have garnered state, regional, national, and international awards. His recent directing credits include productions spanning from Baroque to contemporary works, with recognition from both the American Prize and National Opera Association. He currently serves as faculty and stage director at the Festival of International Opera in Urbania, Italy. Dr. May is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and holds the position of Vice-President on Georgia NATS's executive board.
