Jonathan Yarrington
About
Jonathan Yarrington is an Associate Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at the University of Southern Mississippi School of Music. As an accomplished tenor, he brings extensive professional experience to his teaching position. He is a native of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and has performed with The Dallas Opera and at major universities including the University of North Texas, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Brigham Young University. From 2011 to 2014, he was a member of the Dallas Opera Studio, where he sang in nearly one hundred performances in title roles for their education and outreach productions. As Director of Opera, he produces fully staged opera productions each year at USM, which showcase the talents of both students and faculty. Jonathan has performed more than fifteen leading roles in various operas and continues to be featured in USM Faculty Artist Series recitals. He is dedicated to helping singers develop their vocal potential and artistic expression.
