Dr. Jonathan Stinson is a distinguished baritone and composer who serves as Teaching Associate Professor, Voice Area Coordinator, and Director of Opera Theatre at the University of Arkansas. He holds voice performance degrees from Oberlin Conservatory, Indiana University, and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). His operatic career has taken him across the United States and Europe, with notable performances including Schaunard in La bohème at Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in Varna, Bulgaria, the title role of Rigoletto in Manchester, UK, and the title role of Don Giovanni in Cortona, Italy. As a composer, Dr. Stinson has created two one-act children's operas, seven song cycles, and numerous choral works. His church anthem "Beloved" won the Grand Prize of the International Anthem Competition in 2015. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas, he served on voice faculties at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, Edge Hill University (UK), and Northern Kentucky University.
