Jennifer Youngs
About
Dr. Jennifer Youngs is Assistant Professor of Voice in the Vocal Division Classical at BYU School of Music, appointed in July 2024. She is a soprano with extensive operatic and orchestral experience. Her opera roles include Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito, and Casilda in The Gondoliers. She has appeared with Dallas, Abilene, and Winston-Salem symphonies, performing works including Mahlers 4th, Carmina Burana, and Beethovens 9th. Dr. Youngs was nominated for a Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant and is winner of the Lois Alba Aria Competition and Kansas City Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions.
Education & Qualifications
Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from University of North Texas (2019), Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Opera from University of North Texas (2012), Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from University of the Pacific (2002)
