Jennifer Wilson
About
Jennifer Wilson is a professional operatic soprano and voice teacher based in West Palm Beach, serving as the Education Manager and Studio Director for Palm Beach Opera. In this role, she guides the Palm Beach Opera Studio Program, a transformative training initiative for high school students interested in pursuing careers in the performing arts. The studio program, now in its 19th season, provides participants with regular voice lessons, musical coaching, masterclasses, and specialized instruction in vocal pedagogy, diction, opera history, acting, and audition techniques. Ms. Wilson attended Cornell University, where she pursued advanced studies before taking a leave of absence to receive specialized training in acting, languages, and vocal studies with the renowned former Metropolitan Opera coloratura soprano Marilyn Cotlow. Her professional singing career began relatively late at age 36 with her debut in the title role of Puccini's Turandot with Connecticut Opera in 2002. Since then, she has established herself as a major interpreter of challenging operatic roles, particularly noted for her Wagnerian performances including roles such as Brünnhilde and Isolde at prestigious international venues. She has performed at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and numerous other world-class opera houses throughout Europe and North America. Her teaching combines extensive performance experience with a commitment to developing young singers' technical skills and artistic expression.
