Dr. Jeanie Wozencraft-Ornellas is the Head of the Music Department and Associate Professor of Voice at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. A lyric soprano, she made her professional debut with the Cleveland Opera and has performed in 13 countries including China, Spain, New Zealand, and Indonesia. Recognized among "Outstanding Musicians of the Twentieth Century," she is twice a regional finalist and award winner in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions. Prior to joining Meredith College, Dr. Wozencraft-Ornellas served on the faculty at Eastern New Mexico University for 32 years, where she taught voice, vocal pedagogy, vocal literature, and directed opera and music theatre productions. She brings extensive international performance experience and deep expertise in vocal training and music education leadership.
