Jeanette Fontaine
About
Dr. Jeanette Fontaine is an Associate Professor of Voice and Voice Area Coordinator at Mississippi State University, serving as Assistant Director of Opera. A mezzo-soprano, Dr. Fontaine maintains an active performance schedule in opera, concert, and recital venues. She has performed in major works including Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Mozart's Requiem with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra. Her operatic roles span classical repertoire from Mozart to contemporary works. With over ten years of voice instruction experience, her students have won placements in both NATS and MMTA competitions. Dr. Fontaine specializes in song literature, vocal pedagogy, and foreign language diction, teaching in French, Italian, and Russian. She is currently studying Russian and specializes in Russian repertoire performance.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor of Music from University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Master of Music from University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Doctorate of Musical Arts from University of Alabama. Published in NATS Journal of Singing (September/October 2013). Contributed research to Carol Kimball's esteemed texts on art song.
