Jason Davis is a distinguished tenor based in Halifax who has been hailed by critics as "truly a fine tenor" for his exceptional vocal quality and artistry. His operatic performances include roles with Opera Nova Scotia (Idomeneo), Opera New Brunswick (Tamino in Die Zauberflöte), and Maritime Concert Opera (Rodolfo in La bohème, Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, Canio in I Pagliacci), demonstrating his mastery of the standard operatic tenor repertoire. Jason is the founder and Artistic Director of the Broadway Company Players music theatre ensemble and Halifax's Breaking Waves vocal theatre company, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to developing musical theatre opportunities in Nova Scotia. He runs Davis Vocal Studios with his wife, mezzo-soprano Lucy Hayes Davis, where they provide comprehensive voice instruction grounded in bel canto principles learned during their professional operatic training. Jason maintains a very active private teaching studio where he offers voice lessons and coachings to students from beginner through professional levels, bringing his extensive performance experience to help students develop technically sound and artistically compelling voices.
