Jane Dutton is a Professor of Music (Voice) at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and an accomplished opera singer. An Indiana native with deep ties to Indiana University, Dutton earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from IU, where she studied with the renowned Wagnerian soprano Margaret Harshaw. She has performed at prestigious venues including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera, and English National Opera (London). Her European debut occurred at Barcelona's Gran Teatre Del Liceu, where she was reengaged by the theater for 10 seasons. She has established herself as a major Wagnerian soprano and has appeared with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony, RTE National Symphony (Ireland), Prague Radio Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Houston Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and the Korean Broadcast Symphony at the United Nations General Assembly. She has been awarded prizes in many competitions, including Placido Domingo's Operalia.
