Jamie Reimer Seaman
About
Dr. Jamie Reimer Seaman is the Richard H. Larson Distinguished Professor of Music (Voice) and Area Head of Vocal Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She earned her DMA and MM degrees at UNL, and her BM at Hastings College. As a soprano, she has performed in opera, oratorio and recital venues throughout the United States, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Australia. With a particular interest in contemporary American art song, her research focuses on the life and work of composer Robert Owens. She gave the world premiere of Owens' 4 Sonnets to Eleonora Duse in 2012 and performed in the North American premiere of his opera Culture! in 2015. Dr. Reimer Seaman has received multiple honors, including a Special Judges' Citation from The American Prize and the IAWM Programming Award.
