Jamie B. Levine is an accomplished mezzo-soprano and experienced vocal instructor with over 13 years of professional teaching experience. She maintains a private voice studio in Annapolis, Maryland, where she teaches students of all ages and skill levels. As an Applied Vocal Instructor and Teaching Artist for the Apex Arts Magnet Program at Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Jamie teaches Musical Theatre Performance, Pop/Rock Performance, and Audition Technique. She has served as Music Director for multiple performing arts organizations including Childrens Theatre of Annapolis and Stage & Screen Studios. Her teaching methodology emphasizes appoggio-based breath support technique and integrates physical conditioning including yoga, pilates, and tai chi to develop core strength. Jamie has received recognition from The American Prize in Voice and New York Lyric Opera Theatre Competition for her performances of works by Strauss, Mozart, and Wagner. Her students have gained acceptance to prestigious institutions including Berklee College of Music, Peabody Conservatory, University of Maryland, Chicago College of Performing Arts, Florida State University, University of Georgia, Oklahoma City University, Oberlin Conservatory, West Virginia University, University of the Arts, and Towson University. She believes in creating a positive, supportive environment where students can achieve their musical goals.
