J. Taylor Hightower

Dr. J. Taylor Hightower is an Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Southern Mississippi School of Music. As a baritone, he teaches private voice lessons, vocal literature (Vocal Lit I and II), and diction to undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Hightower is an accomplished performer who has been featured in USM Faculty Artist Series recitals, performing opera, musical theater, and other vocal selections. His professional performance experience includes work with Mobile Opera and serving as guest faculty at the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy. He holds extensive training in both performance and pedagogy, bringing a deep understanding of vocal technique and musical interpretation to his teaching. Dr. Hightower's areas of expertise include voice instruction and vocal literature, with a specialization in helping singers develop their unique artistic voices.
