Heidi Melton
About
Heidi Melton is a Grammy Award-winning American dramatic soprano serving as Assistant Professor at the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver. She won a Grammy in 2013 for her part in the Metropolitan Opera's Ring cycle directed by Robert Lepage. Internationally acclaimed as "the Wagnerian voice we have been waiting for since Flagstad and Nilsson," she has performed with the BBC Proms in London with conductor Donald Runnicles, the Vienna Philharmonic under Valery Gergiev, at the Bayreuth Festival where Wagner conducted, and with the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle performing Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre. Her career spans major opera houses worldwide including the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera. She brings extensive international performance and masterclass experience to her teaching.
