Heather Honaker is a voice instructor based in Smithfield, Utah, who teaches using classical style as a foundation for healthy vocal technique. She works with beginning, intermediate, and advanced singers ages 14 and up. Her approach emphasizes understanding the voice as an instrument, with a focus on classical repertoire, though other genres may be explored based on individual student progress and goals. In addition to a focus on correct vocal technique and improved sound, students learn a variety of new information and skills, including understanding of the body's anatomy as it relates to singing, effective practice techniques, and performance skills. She provides preparation for performances, auditions, and competitions. Heather teaches both at her home studio in Smithfield and at the Utah State University campus studio. She also serves as a Faculty Associate at Utah State University. Her studio emphasizes regular practice with students expected to practice minimum 5 days weekly. Studio recitals and festival participation may be required.
