Gregory Broughton
About
Gregory Broughton is an Associate Professor of Music and Voice at the University of Georgia's Hugh Hodgson School of Music, specializing in tenor voice. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a concentration in voice and choral music, and degrees in vocal performance from the University of Michigan. As a tenor, he has made solo appearances under distinguished conductors including Yoel Levi, Donald Neuen, Gustav Meier, John DeMain, J. Paul Cobbs and Jacqueline Hairston. Notable performances include world premieres with the Seattle Symphony and Toledo Symphony, as well as operatic engagements with Mid-Michigan Opera, Onyx Opera/Atlanta and Chautauqua Opera. His duties at UGA include graduate and undergraduate applied voice instruction, graduate academic advising for vocal music majors, and conducting the University of Georgia African American Choral Ensemble. He recently received the Founder's Award for '35 Years of Divine Excellence' from Pamoja Connections Inc.
