Dr. Grant Knox serves as Associate Professor of Voice and Director of Sarah Reese Lyric Theatre at Furman University in Greenville, SC. He maintains an active career spanning opera, musical theater, concert, and recital performance, having performed with major opera companies including Cincinnati Opera, Atlanta Opera, and Chicago Opera Theater, as well as orchestras like the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Illinois Philharmonic. Knox emphasizes discovering each singer's distinctive voice while refining technique, stating: "I am interested in finding each singer's unique sound so that it may be developed to the fullest." He is the recipient of the 2016/17 Alester G. Furman Jr. and Janie Earle Furman Award for meritorious teaching, and his students have attended prestigious conservatories including Eastman, Northwestern, and Peabody. He has collaborated with contemporary composers including Libby Larsen and Jake Heggie.
