Evelyn Harris is a distinguished voice teacher with over 60 years of teaching experience in Utah. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in music from Brigham Young University, where she sang in the Acapella Choir as a soloist and performed leads in several operas and oratorios. She began teaching at Weber College (now Weber State University) where she taught voice, vocal workshops, and directed choirs. As Weber State grew from a two-year college to a four-year university, she continued to teach many classes and directed the Weber State Singers. After retiring from full-time teaching in 2000 following 36 years of service, she continues as a Private Adjunct Instructor in Voice at Weber State University. In April 2017, Weber State University awarded her an Honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree recognizing her lifelong dedication and stewardship to the arts and music. In October 2018, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) for her service in choral music in Utah. She is accomplished in a variety of vocal specializations including Broadway, country, pop, and classical styles.
