Eric Dudley
About
Eric Dudley is an Associate Professor of Voice at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music, where he teaches voice and composition, coaches the student-run new music ensemble 28/78, and conducts Pacific Opera Theatre. Born in Toronto and raised in Connecticut, Dudley leads a multi-faceted career as a conductor, composer, vocalist, and pianist. He is an original member of the two-time Grammy Award-winning vocal octet Roomful of Teeth, with whom he toured extensively for over twelve years, winning his second Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for the album Rough Magic. As a conductor, he served as assistant conductor for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under Paavo Jรคrvi and is currently in his seventh season as artistic director and conductor of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. He has performed with organizations including Ekmeles and Tenet vocal ensembles, the Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Ensemble Signal, and the New York Philharmonic.

Bachelor of Music in Composition with Distinction from Eastman School of Music (2001); Master of Music and Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting from Yale School of Music (recipient of the Deans Prize, 2004)
