Emily A. Wertz is a soprano vocalist and accomplished voice instructor with nearly two decades of private voice teaching experience. She serves as adjunct faculty at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and also teaches at The Music Academy in State College, PA. Emily holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Pennsylvania State University, along with a Professional Performance Certificate, providing her with deep expertise in both singing and teaching methodology. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes equipping singers to use their natural voice freely and healthily while developing their musicianship and performance abilities. Emily specializes in both classical and musical theater repertoire, helping students build strong technical foundations while discovering their unique vocal identity. Beyond her collegiate teaching, Emily previously served as artistic director of the Williamsport Youth Choir from 2013-2020, demonstrating her commitment to developing young musicians. Her performance background spans opera, musical theater, oratorio, and solo recitals with regional orchestras and choral ensembles. Additionally, Emily works as a certified life coach, integrating coaching techniques into her voice instruction to help students overcome limiting beliefs and achieve their goals both musically and personally.
