Emily Padgett-Young is a vocal coach and Musical Theatre Dance instructor at Missouri State University with two decades of professional performance experience across six Broadway productions. Her Broadway credits include originating Mrs. Bucket in 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory,' starring in 'Bright Star' (Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's Tony-nominated musical), portraying Daisy Hilton in 'Side Show' (San Diego Critics Circle Award for Best Actress in a Musical, Helen Hayes Award nomination), originating Alex in 'Flashdance the Musical,' and performing in 'Grease,' 'Cats,' and 'Sweet Charity' (Chita Rivera Award nomination). She appears on original cast albums of 'Side Show,' 'Bright Star,' and 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.' Emily regularly performs with symphony orchestras nationwide and at venues including 54 Below and Joe's Pub. Previously taught at Oakland University.
