Eileen Marie Moore

Eileen Marie Moore is an accomplished soprano and Applied Faculty member in Voice at Cleveland State University, where she has taught since 1987. She is also a voice instructor at the Oberlin Community Music School. Moore holds both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Voice from Indiana University, with specialization in early music performance practice. Her distinguished career spans over three decades of performance, education, and composition. As a performer, she has collaborated with the prestigious Ensemble Sequentia across major American cities and performed at The Cloisters in New York. She made her Cleveland Opera debut as Cis in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring and has appeared as a featured soloist with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Cleveland Opera, and the Robert Page Cleveland Singers. Since 1998, she has performed internationally as The Moore/Better Duo with guitarist Don Better, specializing in multi-national folksong repertoire. Beyond her performance career, Moore has created nearly 70 children's operas through Cleveland Opera's Music!Words!Opera! program, which operated from 1992-2011 and brought music education to thousands of students in K-8 grades. She actively premieres contemporary works and directs youth orchestras. Her teaching approach emphasizes holistic vocal development, combining technical precision with artistic interpretation across multiple styles including opera, art song, contemporary music, and traditional folksong.

Bachelor of Music in Voice with concentration in Composition, Indiana University; Master of Music in Voice with minor in Early Music Performance Practice, Indiana University. Applied Faculty in Voice, Cleveland State University since 1987.
