Dr. Sandra McClain
About
Dr. Sandra McClain is a Senior Instructor and Artist-in-Residence and the Graduate Studies Coordinator in the Department of Music at Florida Atlantic University. She is an accomplished soprano who won the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Auditions and has performed extensively in opera and concerts throughout the eastern United States and internationally. At FAU, she teaches graduate and undergraduate applied voice, diction for singers, art song survey, and vocal chamber music. Dr. McClain holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Meredith College, a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music, and an Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Before joining FAU in 2006, she held faculty positions at James Madison University, Mary Baldwin College, and Georgia Southern University. She remains active as a master class clinician, adjudicator, and member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, contributing significantly to vocal education and performance in the region.
