Dr. Richard Carrillo

About

Dr. Richard Anthony Carrillo is an Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is an accomplished conductor, singer, educator, and researcher with extensive performance and teaching experience. Prior to joining UNO, Carrillo spent nearly ten years teaching middle and high school music, where his Chamber Choir was invited to perform for the 2016 Minnesota Music Educators Association Convention and the 2018 Midwest ACDA Regional Convention. He has sung professionally at multiple prestigious venues including the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston, the National Shrine and Cathedral of the Apostle Paul in St. Paul, the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, and the Church of the Epiphany in Miami. Dr. Carrillo is also an avid church musician and has served as Director of Choirs at multiple institutions.

Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from University of Miami Frost School of Music, Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Missouri State University, Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Moores School of Music at University of Houston
