Dr. Min Sang Kim
About
Dr. Min Sang Kim is an Assistant Professor of Voice and Graduate Program Coordinator at Austin Peay State University. He is an accomplished countertenor praised for his 'unusually ethereal and powerful voice' and has captivated audiences worldwide with his exceptional artistry and versatility. A native of South Korea, Dr. Kim has performed leading operatic roles internationally, including works by Handel, Monteverdi, Britten, and Mozart. He has performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Washington Bach Consort, and at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Dr. Kim was the first countertenor to receive a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Institute. He is a recipient of numerous awards including top prizes in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (Capitol District), Annapolis Opera Competition, Camille Coloratura Awards, and multiple international music competitions.
